Birthday bear colour card challenge

I have quite a few birthdays comings up soon, and when I saw this challenge over at Pal’s Paper Arts, I knew instantly the little girl that this pink and peach card would be going to. She is very shortly going to be one year old, so a teddy bear was the perfect stamp to choose for this one.

I am also entering this as my second entry to the Crafty Friends Challenge blog.

Pink and peach birthday bear card

I used peach card to layer the mat sheet from DCWV’s Green stack, (which LOVE by the way!) which has a great frame built in. I used a teddy bear stamp by Anita’s with Tsukineko’s brilliance dew drop ink pad in pearl beige. I then used water and a paint brush to add a little extra colour and dimension to the image.

The double bow is made using satin ribbon doubled over, and I used another brilliance ink pad, this time in pearlescent orchid to stamp the happy birthday sentiment using a Daisy & Dandelion stamp.

I was tempted to add gems to the top right corner to fill out a little more of the white space, but I think I am going to add a circle with the number one in it. The problem is, my current circle cutter can’t cut one small enough, but I am waiting on delivery of a new Big Shot, so I can cut some out – I am very excited, I ordered quite a few other goodies as I had a 15% discount for Hobbycraft! Hopefully everything will arrive in a couple of days and I can add the small topper.
