Custom stamped horse birthday card

It has been a while since I posted a custom order, as I have been busy making designs for my new Etsy store and for an upcoming craft fair in Canterbury. This horse birthday card was a real pleasure to make, as it was for someone with a real passion for their horse.

Horse birthday card

I started with an A6 white card and added a patterned brown card from a DCWV mat stack. Then using a stamp from Anita’s I used a Tsukineko Brilliance Dew Drop ink pad to stamp the horse onto white card which I mounted using double-sided tape.

Next I added satin ribbon in a lovely forest green and matching emerald gems in the top right corner of the card. Finally I added a hand-written message (Happy Birthday) using a metallic glitter ink pen. I hope the recipient likes it!

Wonderful wildlife – butterfly birthday card

This is another combined challenge and I am featuring wildlife, as presented by the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge  and the creature and critter linky party over at ellibelle’s creative moments.

Metallic butterfly birthday card

The textured card layers are all from a DCWV metallic card mat stack. I used Anita’s stamps to stamp three versions of the butterfly and then used three colours and alternated the body parts on each one to make it a little different. The pens I used are Permapaque pigment markers, which have a nice metallic shimmer on them.

The birthday sentiment stamp is from a clear stamp set which doesn’t have a brand on it, but I did use a brilliance dew drop ink pad in graphite black. Finally I added a black satin ribbon with a double bow, which I am really enjoying using across quite a few of my cards at the moment – don’t you just love learning how to do something new that is so easy to use?

I am a little sad that this will be the last time I use this stamp as unfortunately it seems to be damaged. When I stamped it, it was missing quite a few areas and upon inspection the rubber in a few areas isn’t at the same height all over the stamp. I took the time to fill the blanks in with a fine liner black pen on this card, but it was quite time consuming for such a little stamp. I don’t recall if it has always been like this, as I have had this stamp quite a while or if it has somehow been damaged in storage. So, unless someone knows a way to rescue it, it will shortly be retired to the bin.
